Mouneer Al Shaarani

Internationally acclaimed Syrian artist, Mouneer AlShaarani (1952) is an admired calligrapher, book designer and writer. An apprentice for Badawi AlDirany, AlShaarani then graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Damascus in 1977. Known for his work in contemporary Arab calligraphy, AShaarani has also become popular for his innovative and scholarly advancements of the traditional calligraphic script. His work has been showcased internationally and has been acquired by iconic institutions and are also in private collections.
